Sparrow Email Love
The email client Sparrow is a Gmail client for Macs that looks very similar to the Twitter interface. Its an app that makes sending and receiving email really fun. The client includes features such as drag-and-drop of attachments and multiple keyboard shortcuts. Its overall selling point is that it’s fast, light and very attractive.
The popular client and app was released in the Mac App Store this week, and its already made a big debut. Within hours of its launch, the application was on the top of the charts and received excellent reviews. The interface is one its key features and its simple design makes using it allot better that just Gmail on a browser.
Its a simple concept, make something people use, allot easier and people will love it. This is not new but lots of developers forget the real value of the user experience. Please take note if you are on of those developers.
The main drawbacks of the Mac app is that only supports Gmail so if you use Yahoo or some of the others, you are out of luck. However, version 1.1, will reportedly support for all IMAP accounts. It has a price tag of $10 so its not free like Gmail on a browser but then again you get a much nicer interface.
