iPad Trade-In and Buy-Back Offer Explodes Online

How do you kill the price of an older model??? You introduce a newer one with more features at the same price — that’s what Apple did when it introduced the iPad2. Just hours after the iPad 2 announcement, thousands took to the web to sell their old tablets, and this is having a drastic impact on the secondary market and prices.

Within hours of the iPad 2 announcement, Gazelle.com was forced to lower the trade-in value, as a result of the massive interest to dump the older tablet.

The two best known sites offering buy back and trade-in programs are Gazelle and Nextworth. Check them out if you are considering trade-in, but do it soon cause prices are expected to continue to drop specially on March 11 when the new iPad2 begins shipping.

Rumors has it that Target and Best Buy will also offer trade-in programs so stay tune for details as they become available.

According to Mashable, the most popular trade-in is the iPad 16G Wi-Fi unit. The next most popular, is the most expensive: the 64GB iPad 3G.
