Call And Text– 30,000 Feet In The Air
There’s a new Android App out in the market that will allow you make a call 30,000 feet in the air or send a text message just as you would normally when you’re on the ground. An app that can be this powerful? Where do I sign up? Well, you can purchase this useful app for as “low” as $12,500. Yes, you’ve read correctly. The app will cost $12,500 and that’s just for a single license. Multi-channel licenses will run up to $17,500, the price of a brand new car.
The app, dubbed “SafeCell” will be available in the United States, as well as a few other countries where conventional mobile phone systems are banned. The expensive but powerful app can be installed on unlimited mobile devices (HTC Trophy pictured) at no extra charge, however, don’t start thinking you can buy one license to share with your entire company. With a single channel license, you’ll only be able to log in one at a time. Multi-channel licenses will allow six users to log in concurrently. Ron Chapman, CEO of Asiq is also working on making this app iPhone friendly since they recognize Apple’s influence in the wireless industry.
Asiq will also have a new airline system that can be licensed by aircraft personnel and allow passengers to use their mobile devices for free. The airline app will only be restricted to data use, but still, an awesome feature. The airline platform will support all air passengers who want to use their mobile devices. Unlimited texting on a plane, at the same exact time, it almost sounds too good to be true! The texting will happen over a low cost satellite (Astra satellite pictured) network and will use Bluetooth technology to connect with existing satellites ground stations. “SafeCell Bizjet” will be released for aircraft in 2011.
