Nook Color Gets Android Froyo
When you think of the Barnes and Noble Nook, you think of an eReader. Possibly bland with the need of a bit of spice, you most likely do no think of the Nook as anything revolutionary. Fortunately, that’s about to change. Owners of the Nook Color will get an update next month to include Android’s popular “Froyo” operating system. It’ll come with all the fixings, Flash Player, Games, Email, and Nook apps. Although there isn’t much feedback on what kind of apps Nook will deliver, you can bet that they’ll be in line with what Amazon marketplace is serving up these days.
Hopefully this will cheer up many Nook owners who perhaps wish they had purchased an iPad instead. Some speculate that Barnes and Noble is trying to power up their own little device in anticipation of Amazon launching their own Android-powered tablet in the future, and this is B&N’s way of being prepared for that release. Does news of the Android OS update influence your views on the Nook Color. Would you consider getting this?
