The Beautiful Apogee Duet 2
For music enthusiasts throughout the world, listen to this: Apogee is releasing a “studio in a box”, also known as their Duet 2. The beautiful device features a full-color OLED display and gives stunning visual feedback for essentials like metering, input, output, and more. The device offers 24-bit/192khz recording, configurable touch pads, Soft Limit technology, a breakout cable and Maestro 2 software, along with redesigned mic preamps, four balanced outputs, and an independent speaker. The Duet captures sound recordings using a mic, or can be directly plugged in to your computer. It’s breakout cable converts its I/O port into two mic (XLR) or two line/instrument preamps that measure out to be a quarter inch. Its click-free multi-function controller knob can be turned up to 75 decibels.
The Duet has a visual display that allows the user to adjust volume settings without running into audio distortion. Apogee’s Soft Limit technology prevents digital clipping by rounding off transient peaks before they hit the redesigned analog-to-digital converters. For $595, you get four outputs allowing users to simultaneously monitor one source while sending the other out, as well as having quick access to output functions via the touch pads.
This beautiful device will be available this month and is designed exclusively for the Mac. Check out the video below to see what this Duet 2 can do!
