PlayStation Games On Your Smartphone, We’re Finally Here
Sony PlayStation games are now available on Google’s Android Market. So far, some PlayStation 1 games made available are: Syphon Filter, MediEvil, and Cool Boarders 2. The titles are available for $6.38 at the moment with many more expected to roll out in the coming weeks. This of course is all happening before Sony Ericsson’s Xperia PLAY will be released.
The Xperia PLAY will be the first PlayStation Certified Android smartphone and will, as the name hints at, be able to play original PlayStation games downloaded through the Android Market. Verizon will be the only carrier to support the Xperia PLAY, at least for now, and the device it expected to ship this Spring.
If you want to learn more about this videogame system/cell phone combo, you can do so at Sony Ericsson’s website. As a videogame nerd myself, I remember jokingly talking with friends about when they would release a PlayStation “experience” for cell phones. At the time, I don’t think I was seriously expecting it ever to happen, but look, it’s happening. It is a privilege to be this close to next generation technology. I also find it hard to take it for granted when I see how far we have developed in the past ten years. Take a look at the video below to see the amount of ingenuity Sony took to make sure they delivered an outstanding media experience for consumers.
