Archos Arnova 10: A Noteworthy Tablet Under $200

The Archos Arnova 10 Tablet has now become available for purchase, priced as low as $187.66. The budget tablet carries a 10.1 inch resistive touchscreen display with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution. The tablet also has an integrated webcam for live video chat, USB 2.0 port, and a USB connector. It offers 802.11 b/g WiFi support to connect to the internet.

The device comes with 4GB of internal memory as well as an SDHC card slot if you need more. We are not sure if there is a max limit of SD card space, but with 64GB SD cards going for about $100, you can have yourself a portable tablet that is able to carry all of your important documents, videos, photos, and music.

The Arnova 10 allows its users to enjoy multimedia capabilities such as 720p HD video, MP4, and RealVideo. The integrated mic and speaker make live video chat possible, although perhaps not the highest quality, still a nice feature. The Arnova 10 claims a 6 hour battery life while playing video, and a 40 hour battery life when playing music only, that is, with the screen turned off. The device runs on Android 2.1, Eclair. We find the Arnova 10 to be an excellent “no-frills” tablet for someone new to Android or tablets, wanting to get a piece of the action without throwing down $500. For $200, you really don’t have too much to lose. It could just be the perfect tablet for budget consumers or students looking to enter the Android experience.
