Windows 8 Ribbon Feature (Photos Leaked!)
Thanks to some devoted members who took a screenshot of their Windows 8 test version, we are able to take a closer look at what this new Operating System will be like. According to this screenshot, Windows 8 will have ribbon menus rather than the traditional drop-down menu. This could be Microsoft’s attempt to continually evolve in effort to ditch the “old school attitude” that is often placed upon the company. Within the ribbon itself, you will find options for each menu item.
The only drawback it seems is the amount of screen real-estate this new ribbon will take up. Despite Microsoft’s attempt to stay new and innovative with this wide scale ribbon feature, I think that sometimes it is best *not to change a well-working design that everybody is used to. For me, Microsoft is intuitive, and I don’t think now is a good time to change the interface, requiring people to relearn how to use their operating system. At least by the time Windows 8 is installed in corporate settings, I know that many companies are still using Microsoft Windows XP. Take a look at some of the screenshots below, and let us know what you think!
