Hitachi Unleashes New Drives With Free Cloud Storage
Hitachi has unleashed a new range of Touro Pro desktop and mobile USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 hard drives. The drives ship out with back-up, online cloud storage services. Cloud computing allows users to store their content through the web and access all of their important documents and files from any computer or mobile device. All that is needed is an internet connection, and users will get 3GB of data for free.
For power users, there are pricing packages that start at $49 for 250GB of storage, and includes a free iphone/iPad app making it easy to access your importants docs on the fly. Each of the new drives are characterized by a beautiful black glossy finish and are compatible with Windows and Macs, alike. The Touro Mobile Pro starts just shy of $80 for the 320GB edition, with the 3TB Touro Desk Pro External Drive following at $230.
With all the storage solutions available, we are seeing a decrease in price in cost per GB as well as a general welcoming to heavier documents and files, such as massive Blu-ray movies and FLAC audio files (a type of music file that offers tremendous audio quality, but costs a lot of storage real estate).
