Toshiba Regza Tablet AT300 Coming Soon
Toshiba has a new tablet on the rise, although we don’t have a confirmed name yet, we do know it might be named “Thrive” or “Antares” in the U.S. The device is called the Regza Tablet AT300 (not pictured) in Japan, after a popular consumer brand. It will go on sale in June for 60,000 yen or $723, but will be around $500 in the United States. Newegg.com displayed the tablet on its website as arriving soon but have removed it since then.
The device carries 16GB of your most important documents, runs on a 1Ghz Nvidia Tegra 2 chip, and comes polished with Android 3.0 Honeycomb. The tablet rocks a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 display and runs your applications over a gigabyte of RAM. Connectivity is endless with a featured 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI, 5MP/2MP front and rear webcams, an SD card reader, USB and mini-USB ports.
In terms of it’s tech specs, the device definitely holds its own but doesn’t necessarily blow any of the competition out of the water. I do wonder whether we’ll see prices trend towards $300 for these high-powered tablets. I mean, there is so much variety out there for tablet-seeking consumers, what’s the incentive of choosing X over Y? If these companies cannot compete on hardware, they must compete on either price-wise or via added services. Check out the video below for a look at the new tablet!
