iMac, Meet SandyBridge
Apple is refreshing its iMac lineup tomorrow. The new iMacs will have the all new Sandy Bridge Core i5 and Core i7 processors from Intel. An Apple Insider, Kasper Jade said that Apple will release the new iMacs on Tuesday, May third and that the new Apple products will carry the high-speed Thunderbolt port.
The report also stated that the release of an update comes at an “important time for Apple since Macs have seen a decline in shipments.” Jade went further to say that Apple is in the process of morphing into a full-fledge mobile company. For all you current Mac owners, this recent update won’t bring too much of a change in computing performance.
The only real incentive to upgrading your current iMac would be the new thunderbolt port, but to upgrade just for a port is a bit unnecessary. On the other hand, if you’ve been thinking about getting a new iMac for quite a while, this may just be the perfect time to do so. Heck, I am sure college kids across the country are using the upcoming Fall semester as the perfect excuse to get a faster computer, ahem, a new iMac. Until the next Apple update, stay tuned!
