OS X Lion Features “Find My Mac”

While the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference is only a month away, we are learning more about what might constitute the new OS X Lion. According to 9to5Mac, the new OS will feature a “Find my Mac” tool that works very similar to the “Find my iPhone”, exclusively for MobileMe. There will also be Find My Mac messenger, and we have no idea what this could be.

Some speculate that it is a way for Mac’s Finder to instant message the Mac owner, but we’re not too sure how it works or how effective the applicaiton will be. Apple will also unveil a newer version of MobileMe, opening up the possibility of introducing a new chat messenger to the existing platform.

Apple might be making the feature free for iOS devices and a for-charge service for notebook owners. The WWDC will be held on June 6th in San Francisco. We will be excited to learn more about the OS X software at the WWDC, but a bit sad that we won’t hear anything official about the iPhone 5 until later this year. Oh well, good things come to people who wait, or at least that’s what I’ve been told! Take a look at the video below to see how “Find my iPhone” works.
