Samsung Receives Bomb Scare After Bin Laden’s Death
Shortly after the main news stations had reported on the death of Bin Laden, Samsung Electronics received a bomb threat. The threat was made to the main branch of Samsung (pictured top) in Seoul, Korea. Interestingly enough, the Canadian division of Samsung also received a similar threat. The threat to Samsung in Korea also threatened other targets around Seoul. The targets listed in the the threat were embassies of Turkey, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Oman, Bahrain, Jordan, Syria and Egypt. All the embassies immediately raised security according to reports.
Samsung had alerted authorities and 50 members of the special police force were dispatched to Samsungs Headquarters to determine whether the threat was real. Out of all the threats given, none were made against the United States which is strange given the fact that it was a United States mission that killed Osama Bin Laden.
This can be interpreted in one of two ways, Al-Qaeda is scared of the United States or Al-Qaeda is planning something much bigger than a few tiny threats, and the threats served as a mere distraction. Although I am sure Osama Bin Laden’s death sparked much outrage amongst followers, I am hoping that they are not planning vengeance against the United States, a nation already hated by many from the Iraq wars.
