Great Budget Notebook: Samsung Series 4
We just got word that there is a new Samsung notebook, the Samsung Series 4, model 400B2Bs. The notebook is aimed for ultra mobile users who need something light enough to take with them wherever they go, but powerful enough to handle basic business computing. The machine wasn’t designed to compete with the aesthetics of the MacBook, but when you need a computer, style doesn’t really matter.
Interestingly, it comes with an IBM-style tracking numb embedded within the keyboard that can be used as a mouse. This tracking numb is traditional of most IBM business notebooks. The notebook also has a fingerprint reader for security, and while not a new invention, does complement the business image rather well. The notebook’s case is made out of aluminum and sports a 12.5-inch display, running a 1366 x 768 resolution.
The notebook also has a full-sized, spill-resistant keyboard which makes it great for those lunch browsing blunders, I suppose when you squirt some hot sauce on your keyboard. Now let’s get to the heart of the computer. The base model will ship out with an Intel Core i3-2301m processor running at 2.1GHz, 4GB of RAM, and a 500GB HDD. The laptop has an integrated GMA chipset, so don’t expect to do any 3D gaming on this machine, unless of course it is Tank Wars. The WiFi is 802.11n and comes with Windows 7 Pro. The battery life is a 6-cell 5900mAh battery. Dive into the world of Samsung’s Series 4 in the video below!
