New WiMax Sleeve For Korean iPhone 4

Korean company, Telecom has just released a special sleeve for the iPhone 4 that allows it to receive wireless broadband access, also known as WiMax. What’s cool is that the new sleeve has a built-in battery that allows the iPhone 4 to gain an extra four hours of web surfing. The add-on does increase the iPhone’s bulk by 2.4 ounces but you really can’t go wrong with a WiMax enabled iPhone 4.

Also note that this technology is currently only available in South Korea, for about $120 US. For the rest of us, we’re just going to have to stick to 4G mobile hot spots until we get something similar released here in the United States. WiMax is great because it essentially allows users to create their own hotspots, which makes this a highly prized item where there aren’t any pre-established hot spots in sight.

Let’s face it, it isn’t always the most feasible option to spend your entire day at the local Starbucks, and Telecom knows that. I can easily see this technology becoming popular on future camping trips where consumers want to stay connected with work e-mails, personal e-mails, or heck, just Facebook. Whoever said Internet addiction was a bad thing? Check out the video to learn more about how WiMax works.
