Introducing Panasonic’s Toughbook 53
Panasonic announced this morning that it will be delivering the Toughbook 53, the big brother from the Toughbook 52. Instead of a 15.4-inch screen, the T53 will sport a 14-inch display. The T53 will also be significantly lighter than the T52’s 7.2 pounds, weighing in at 5.6 pounds. The T53 was designed for vehicle-mounting and will ship with 4G LTE which will supply the iron-strength notebook with the speed needed for today’s computing.
The display is LED-backlit and consumers will have the option of opting for either the i3 or i5 Intel Sandy Bridge processors. The 53 also has VGA and HDMI outputs that will allow for multiple screen viewing. The magnesium body looks very sturdy and is rated to handle a 2.5 foot drop which can be useful.
This model of the Toughbook will have a battery life of up to ten hours with the Long Life battery pack. The base model will start at $1600 but can go all the way up to $2500 with customized specs. If you’ll be needing a laptop that can withstand frequent force and turbulence, I highly recommend getting this machine. And it goes without mentioning that this lighter weight model should be easier on your arms if you need to carry the laptop for extended periods of time.
