Samsung Series 5, Embrace The Chrome

We’ve covered the Samsung Series 7, and the Samsung Series 4, how about some Samsung Series 5 action? The 12.1″ display will run the Chrome operating system and will be available on June 15th, globally. Depending on where you’re located, you can expect to pay between $350-$500 for this slick 3G machine. Weighing in around three pounds, this notebook provides its users with 8.5 hours of battery life while running on a powerful Atom Dual-Core Processor.

Consumers will also enjoy the dual-band WiFi and World-mode 3G (optional). With the HD webcam and noise cancelling microphone, you won’t have to worry about missing your loved one when you’re away from home. Ports-wise, the laptop carries two USB 2.0 ports, a 4-in-1 memory card slot, mini-VGA port, fullsized Chrome keyboard and an oversize fully-clickable trackpad.

If you’ve used Windows your entire life and are ready to try something new, pick one of these laptops up. I believe the specs will make the Chrome OS run like butter since it seems like a much less demanding OS than Windows. You’ve also got to hand it to Google for not trying to ship their Android operating system on laptops. They’ve created an operating system that is specifically optimized for laptop computing, allowing users to instantaneously receive computer and security updates without having to go through any effort.
