HTC Puccini: Full Spec Leak
We mentioned the HTC Puccini last week, as a possible HTC tablet. Well it looks like that rumor had some substance as we have just got wind of a full debriefing of what this tablet has to offer. It will definitely be a ten inch tablet and carry a speedy Gonzalez 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8660 dual core processor, running the infamous Android 3.0 Honeycomb.
HTC might get an upgrade to the next generation Android, Ice Cream Sandwich, but this is more of a hope than anything confirmed. Thankfully, while ten inch displays typically sport a 1000 x 600 resolution, this Android will have a 1280 x 800 resolution, offering sharper pictures and cleaner looking icons. Since 1.5GHz cpu is significantly faster than a 1GHz, it makes you wonder if the tablet will be bundled with any additional productivity software beyond OpenOffice. I mean, why have such a processor unless there will be some sort of demand for such?
I am really hoping that there will be some sort of software kick, either an intensive app(s) or game(s) that will really show us the true power of the 1.5GHz speed on a portable device. Likewise, I really hope this device does not come out on AT&T because I am not a fan of their overcharged data prices and weak coverage. Drop us a +1 in the comments if you agree with that last statement. The Puccini is not pictured on the left.
