Leaked: LG Working On New Tablet
It looks like LG is working a second Android-powered tablet (not pictured), other than the T-Mobile G-Slate, that is. This tablet is called the P930 and according to a leaked XML file, it seems that this will be an Android device with a 1280 x 720 pixel display, featuring GPRS/EDGE and HSDPA/HSUPA 3G.
We don’t have too much information on the tablet just yet, but it should be comparable to modern tablets. Electronista believes that the tablet may actually be a phone, or some sort of hybrid between the two, noting that P usually represents a smartphone in production. We don’t have many details yet but expect the device to hit later this year and be comparably priced with modern tablets.
I personally don’t see tablets taking off until we see a drop in data plan prices from AT&T and similar carriers. I know T-Mobile currently has an unlimited data plan but also heard that they plan on throttling their customers after a certain amount. Throttling or not, unlimited data is essential for tablets and consumers have the right to play Pandora 24/7 if they want to, after all, they are paying for a full-priced tablet AND a data plan, shouldn’t they be allowed to do whatever they want with their new equipment? The answer is yes.
