Two New HTC Leaks: Eternity + Omega
We’ve probably covered over ten new HTC leaks in the past month, but here are two more. HTC is supposedly working on two new Windows Phone 7 handsets, both running the new Mango update. The HTC Eternity (not pictured) will be a higher end device while the HTC Omega (not pictured) will be more of an entry-level Android phone. The Eternity will feature AMOLED screen technology, giving it the beautiful display to complement powerful hardware. The Eternity is expected to have a wide-angle 8MP camera with LED flash.
Users will be able to share media through DLNA technology or through a micro HDMI port. The HTC Omega will have a 3.8-inch display, compared to the Eternity’s 4.5″, and will most likely not feature AMOLED. Both devices will support a 1.5GHz processor (seemingly the future standard of HTC phones) and will most likely feature similar amounts of memory.
I don’t know if HTC is trying to meet some type of yearly quota but it seems like the company is trying to push out a certain number of phones, especially since many of the phone leaks we cover have similar specs. Wouldn’t it be great if they could just specialize in 4 or 5 phones rather than make 20 different ones with strange names? Maybe I am missing the business model here.
