The Pantech Vega Racer: World’s Fastest Phone
Pantech, a Korean based company, offers many impressive handheld cellphones, the newest of which is called the Vega Racer, claimed to be the world’s first 1.5GHz dual-core smartphone. The Vega Racer uses Qualcomm’s MSM8660 Snapdragon processor, 1GB of RAM and an Adreno 220 GPU. The device carries a large 4.3″ LCD screen giving users the simultaneous enjoyment of beauty and brains.
The piece of hardware weighs to be about 4.23 ounces and is 9mm thin. The smartphone features an advanced 8MP rear camera with a 1.3MP front-facing camera and seems to be quite a contender against next-generation smartphones.
Pantech is also contemplating entering the tablet market, but have not made an official statement on that yet. We are not sure what operating system this phone will have, nor do we know pricing and availability, but I’d assume the phone will ship to Asian markets in the common months. Pantech is a well known cell phone manufacturer in both Japan and Korea and looking thinner than an iPhone 4, there is no doubt in my mind that these models will sell like hotcakes! It would be nice to see Pantech create a global phone for the rest of the world to enjoy, but until then–they remain an Asian gem.
