$1350 Smartphone- 3GHz CPU And 13MP Camera
If you thought you knew about the world’s fastest smartphone, think again. BSquare is currently selling a smartphone with two Qualcomm 1.5GHz chips for a total of 3GHz computing power. The dual MSM8660 chip smartphone comes packed with Android Gingerbread and an Adreno 220 GPU. The phone has quite a bit of memory, with the base model starting at 16GB of onboard flash memory with an additional micro SD slot for extra storage.
The device features a 3.6-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen with an HDMI port, five microphones, 5.1 surround soung, and a 13MP camera with 1080p HD video decode and encode. Of course, for over a thousand dollars, you get your WiFi, USB, Bluetooth hookups. Why on earth you’d need this much processing power is beyond me. If I had to guess I would say this would be the phone to get if you intend on hooking up a spare screen to it for a full-fledged Android device.
The phone will be called the Snapdragon MDP MSM8660 and as you can see from the photo, it looks a bit drab. Nonetheless, I don’t know many people who care about what a phone looks like when it features a 13MP camera and processing performance on par with a traditional desktop computer. You’ll just have to see this for yourself when it releases. Can you imagine what the 2 year contract price would be like? Please note that the first phone is the REAL snapdragon, and the second is, well, the flower version.
