360 Degree Video For iPhone 4
A company called Kogeto has been working on a Kickstarter project and has created a Dot camera attachment for the iPhone 4. The camera attachment allows users to shoot 360 degree panoramic video of an environment in real-time, rather than taking multiple shots and later splicing them together.
The dot camera uses the same technology that Kogeto created to keep track of all activity in a room. The gadget hooks up to the back of your iPhone 4 and places the 360 degree camera of the original iPhone 4 camera.
The application works well with Dot and gives the user the opportunity to shoot the video and then export it to a video sharing site like Youtube or through social networking sites, Twitter or Facebook. Since the company is young and the project is new, fans can show some appreciation by donating the following amounts:
$1 – you are donating a buck to help out with the project and get nothing tangible
$47 – the same as above only you also get to attend the product launch party in New York
$99 – this is the level where you actually get the product along with a letter of thanks
$196 – you get two Dots and access to a private beta and free drinks at the launch party
The project has already received over $20,000 in funding and will be going into production phase starting July 3rd, 2011. With enough investments, everything should go as scheduled.
