LG Revolution Hitting Stores Soon
The LG Revolution will be Verizon’s third 4G LTE smartphone and is expected to hit store shelves very soon. If you don’t remember the tech specs, not to worry, the device will run on your standard 4.3″ TFT display with a 480 x 800 resolution and have the same screen as the HTC Thunderbolt. The device will only have one core (as if that wasn’t enough) and will essentially be a 1GHz Snapdragon processor.
The LG Revolution was originally rumored to be the first phone with Netflix support although it doesn’t seem like this device will be supporting Netflix, at least not right out of the box. The phone looks nice but will be running Android 2.2 Froyo (a good operating system, but one that is quickly going out of date). Analysts believe that the LG Revolution may see a Gingerbread update in the coming months, but we have no official word on that yet.
Price-wise, expect the Revolution to carry a $250 price tag with two year contract, which may be a little steep considering the mediocre specs, at least by today’s standards. My advice on this little device would be to wait another few months for a price reduction and perhaps to be able to play with Gingerbread right out of the box. Until then.
