Xbox360 Adds YouTube, Bing, And Live TV To UI
Just a week after Microsoft boasted that 40% of all Xbox’s use was nongaming, Microsoft has recently announced at E3, that it has improved the Xbox UI by adding both detailed voice and gesture controls. The new Xbox user interface will have Bing, Netflix, YouTube, and all of your usual games all in one system, creating the ultimate powerhouse for entertainment.
The only thing missing is a usable chat client, similar to what STEAM uses for its gamers. With the new system, gamers can simply say a term to bring up all games, movies, and TV-shows related to that term. Gamers will be able to watch clips of the content, view gaming tutorials through YouTube, and discover any new releases pertaining to their favorite titles.
The Xbox360 Xperience launches this Fall and is a strong indicator that we will not see the next generation Microsoft console for at least another two or three years. Finally, gamers will be able to enjoy streams of live TV from Canal+, Sky, and Fox, as Crunchgear reports. Will this be enough to keep you with the Microsoft console or does it just bring extra weight to your system when all you want to do is enjoy your favorite games? Let us know some of your thoughts.
