How Would You Like A PlayStation Vita?
Sony revealed its new PlayStation handheld device, the PlayStation Vita, aimed to replace the existing Sony PSP. The device will go on sale for $249 for a regular model or $299 for a 3G version and will be available in time for the holiday rush.
Analysts and commentators immediately said that the device was overpriced and while it could be a good investment for someone planning to constantly use the device, it’s way too expensive for the mass market. What’s worse is that AT&T will be the exclusive carrier for the Vita, and we all know AT&T systematically overcharges its customers, offering small data plans, and charging up the wall for those tiny data packages.
To top that off, many iPhone 3G users already complain about connectivity issues, so just imagine your brand new $300 device having the same network problems. All that drama aside though, if you take a look at the video below, the device itself carries a vibrant OLED screen, can act as a GPS and has Sony’s infamous six-action gyroscope.
Little Big Planet looks like one of the coolest games on the handheld, but maybe that’s just me. If you can deal with the possible network problems, or even if you plan on ordering the regular model, this seems like it would be a great teen/adult handheld alternative to the Nintendo 3DS. What do you think about the gadget?
