Next Generation Wii U, Coming 2012
It looks like E3 has finally brought something of great substance for Nintendo fans, worldwide. The company has just unveiled the next generation Nintendo system, named the Wii U. While this won’t carry the same intensive graphics as the PlayStation 3 or Xbox360, it is essentially a High Definition Wii.
The controller itself has an integrated touchscreen, allowing you to do more and interact more with your games. You can even enjoy videoconferencing with your new Wii controller, and it almost seems like the controller is the highlight of the console.
I am positive that Wii fans will enjoy the upgraded controller over the nunchucks as it adds more interactivity to the gaming. The HD graphics are a nice upgrade, but still do not come close to high end PC graphics cards or the other modern consoles.
It looks like Nintendo is sticking to its roots and creating a console designed for kids to young teens, with just a few fighter games scattered about. This will surely make a great 2012 Christmas gift for the “young-at-heart.” I’ll take a stab that the pricing will be around $249, including one controller.
