Tegra 2 Processors Handle LTE Just Fine
There have been a lot of rumors going around that Nvidia’s new Tegra 2 chips do not support LTE devices that have been arriving on the market. I suppose Nvidia was tired of all the hear-say and made a statement, specifically on the phone with Droid-Life.
Nvidia stated that Tegra has no compatibility issues with Long Term Evolution, and that the Tegra-powered Samsung Galaxy Tab 4G LTE tablet runes on Verizon’s LTE network, making it a perfect example of the happy compatibility between the two platforms.
Nvidia went further in saying that the Tegra 2 platform interfaces with many different types of modems, including LTE and that there was nothing inherently unique about LTE, as far as Tegra 2 was concerned.
Now that we know that there isn’t any problem with Tegra 2 supporting LTE, we will have to attribute the delay of 4G phones to something else, perhaps network testing? We’ll update with more news once we receive it, and let us know what kind of phone you’d be interested in getting if you had to make the choice!
