11 New AMD-Powered Notebooks, From HP

If you’re on the market looking for a new PC, your job just got a lot harder. Computer maker, Hewlett-Packard has just announced a crazed wave of new notebooks that will get you excited for this summer. Each of the new notebooks will feature AMD’s Vision technology, a step up above of the previous Fusion Accelerated Processing Units (APU). The result? Smaller and more light weight full-sized notebooks.

The HP DV series, which has been around for a while, are all getting CoolSense, True Vision HD webcam, and HP’s Beats Audio (on the DV6 and DV7 only). The DV series (DV4, DV6, and DV7) will also be enjoying 2x the graphics power compared to previous generations allowing a new gaming standard, even for those who opt out for a discrete graphics card.

That’s 3 down, 9 to go. The Pavilion G-series (G4, G6, and G7) will get minor hardware updates, while the ProBook b-series (6465b and 6565b) get a brushed-aluminum finished, bead-blasted aluminum display enclosure and a wear-resistant DuraFinish paint, impressive…

The ProBook s-series (4535s, 4435s, and 4436s) adds a similar brushed aluminum finish with a gesture-enabled touchpad and integrated HD webcam. The entire lineup of notebooks will begin shipping later this month and will continue throughout the summer. All the notebooks start around $550. If you wanted to give AMD a chance to shine, now’s the time!
