Asus Introduces New Business Notebook
Asus has just unveiled its new business notebook, titled the Asus B53F, offering something a bit more serious than an Eee PC. The new notebook touts a long battery life, and powerful processing with Intel’s new Sandy Bridge chip.
The notebook sports a 2.4GHz Intel Core i5-520M processor, 2GB of DDR3 memory, clocked at 1,333MHz, and a 320GB hard drive running at 5400 RPM. Now, the RAM is expandable to 8GB of memory, so if you feel you need more storage, you are free to upgrade.
The hard drive is a bit antiquated on the laptop, but still offers decent storage space for the average business user. The display is comprised of a 15.6″ LED-backlit, running a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution with Intel GMA HD integrated graphics.
The machine is preloaded with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and offers a Gigabit Ethernet port amongst the usual USB ports, HDMI, and DisplayPort slot. The 2MP webcam makes video conferencing a breeze, when you’re on those long winded business trips.
Although a fingerprint reader is included, there isn’t anything in particular that makes this business laptop stand above the rest when it comes to security, but it’s good to see Asus spreading its wings in the computing market. We hope to see later generations evolve into something more ThinkPad-ish.
