Console-Based Battlefield 3 Available Only In 720p
PC users will rejoice when hearing this news. DICE has recently claimed that the new Battlefield 3 game (which is available for both console and PC) will only run in 720p on game consoles, at 30 frames per second.
The PC version, however, will run at 1080p at 60 frames per second. If you just bought a new graphics card for your desktop computer, you made a good choice. And, if you just got a new Xbox360, well, you’ve always got Halo to look forward to.
DICE defends the move saying that they wanted console-players to have a full experience with the best effects, destruction, and enhanced vehicles, hinting that if they were to make the game for 1080p on console, it would have taken a lot away from other elements in the game.
Either way, for those who prefer to game on console, it’s gotta hurt. Although, don’t forget you can always get a wireless receiver for your Xbox360 controller, hook it up to your PC, and use the controller to play the game at its full resolution on your PC.
The only thing left on the checklist would be a top-of-the-line gaming rig to pull decent specs. But hey, just tell your parents you are building a new PC for college…
