Top Value Tablets- Meet The Archos G9 Series
Archos has just announced a pair of two awesomely new Android Honeycomb tablets, that will get you excited. The two tablets are called the Archos 80 G9 and the Archos 101 G9 (shown top only). Each of the two feature Android’s Honeycomb operating system, a dual-core OMAP 4 processor (@ 1.5GHz) and a 250GB Seagate hard drive.
The lower model costs $279 and features an 8″ screen running an impressive 1024 x 768 pixel resolution, providing a 4:3 aspect ratio.
Its bigger brother, the Archos 101 G9 starts at $349 and has a larger 10.1″ screen with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, boasting a 16:10 aspect ratio. Each tablet comes with an optional 3G stick (for $50) that will let you connect to the web through a pay-as-you-go service, no ugly contracts here!
Both tablets are expected to hit U.S. shelves by the end of September and will be leaked at the IFA conference in Germany shortly before.
If you’ve always wanted to see what an Android tablet was like but were unsure of spending $500 and up, this device may be just for you. Archos has usually put out lower-end tablets in the past so I am quite surprise to read the spec sheet of these bad boys. They seem to be solid contenders in the tablet space.
