How Would You Like A $70 Android Netbook?
Newegg’s got some great deals, I’ve been buying from them ever since I started my PC building hobby at 16 years of age. What’s great about the site is that its got tons of reviews from customers like you and I, who love technology and have opinions about the stuff they buy (who doesn’t?)
Browsing through the various computers on Newegg, I recently stumbled upon the Augen GENBOOK NBA7400A for $69.99. It’s powered by Android Donut, which is obviously a few generations behind the curb, but other than that it seems like a notebook that will do the basics.
It’s powered by a 400MHz VIA processor and interfaces on a 7″ screen with an 800 x 480 pixel resolution. With 128MB of memory, it is not the most impressive computer on the market, to say the least- but will handle basic e-mail, word processing, etc.
It weighs just under 1.5 pounds and has 2GB of storage space. Users will connect via its Wireless card providing an 802.11 b/g band and can store up to 32GB of “flash drive” space via its SD card slot.
The laptop ships with a web browser supporting YouTube, QuickOffice, Instant Messenger, PDF viewer, and a media player, and while it isn’t a powerhouse, it may be perfect for a new toy to play with. Oh, and did I mention it comes with a Planet of the Apes DVD, shipped to your house for free?
