Samsung Galaxy S II Already Super Hit – Crosses 3 Million Pre-Orders
Samsung has announced that it has sold 3 million units of its Galaxy S II smartphone in just 55 days. The device is expected to launch in 120 countries on over 140 mobile operators, so this number is expected to keep growing, and quickly. However, the phone’s launch date in the US has not been specified yet by Samsung.
The new Android based Samsung smartphone has received various reviews from all over the web, which perhaps helped it to create tremendous market demand that raised their pre-order sales.
If you compare these numbers to Apple’s iPhone, you may wonder why 3 million is a big deal. However, let’s not forget the fact that Samsung has a range of other popular smartphones too, and they all add up to a highly significant TouchWIZ user base. Apple, on the other hand, has been relying on only two phones – the iPhone 4 and 3GS – to drive sales since last summer.
The Samsung Galaxy S II is the first phone to be running TouchWIZ 4, an experience that has been improved in several ways compared to last year’s TouchWIZ 3.
Galaxy S II has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus Screen at 480×800 resolution, a 1 GHz dual core Exynos (Orion) Processor, 1 GB RAM, 8 MP Camera, 2MP Front facing camera and runs on Android 2.3 “Gingerbread”. If you may not know this, Samsung Galaxy S II has already been crowned as the slimmest smartphone ever. One more good thing about the phone is that it already has NFC, so easy mobile shopping!
