Is Motorola Xoom Getting Android 3.2 “Within Days?”
Heads up Motorola Xoom owners, you may be seeing another Honeycomb update coming your way in the very near future. Yesterday, a Google employee apparently confirmed Android 3.2 Honeycomb, the update that got unofficially detailed a few weeks ago, will be coming to the Xoom “within days.”
This is one of only a handful of times we have heard mention of Android 3.2, an update that is said to bring support for a wider range of screen sizes and help bridge the gap to Ice Cream Sandwich.
Google’s scheduling could see the Xoom preempt the Huawei MediaPad as the first Android 3.2-ready tablet. Motorola’s slate was the inaugural Android 3 design and is still treated as Google’s reference model, although it was beaten to 3.1 by Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Xoom, the Android 3.0 powered tablet comes with new Nvidia Tegra2 1GHz dual core processor, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 10.1inch capacitive gorilla glass touch screen display which is capable of playing 1080P HD videos without any lag, 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, 5 mega pixel camera with limited auto focus.
Android 3.2 will bring a bunch of bug fixes and improved hardware acceleration (which is always good).
Well, this still remains very much of a rumor at present time, and until something official is announced or released, we will just have to keep a keen eye out.
What do you think?
