Windows 8 For Windows 7 Users!

Microsoft is on the move again and Windows 8 is around the corner! The best part is that you do not need to buy new hardware for the Windows 8 but all you need to do is buy and upgrade to Windows 7.

All the Windows 7 PCs will be upgraded to Windows 8 and the requirements of Windows 8 might be equal or even less than Windows 7. So if you already have Windows 7 installed, you most probably will get the Windows 8 next year.

Thus far, 400 million licenses of Windows 7 have been sold but Windows XP is still commonly used worldwide and the Microsoft wants XP users to switch to Windows 7 and the current offer (of getting Windows 8 ) might convince many XP users and businesses to switch to Windows 7.

“Two-thirds of business PCs are still on Windows XP. Moving these users to Windows 7 is important and urgent work for us to get after together,” Tami Reller, corporate VP and CFO for Windows, said at Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

He further added, “Windows 8 is a true re-imagining of Windows, from the chip to the interface, despite the re-imagining, Microsoft will keep system requirements flat or reduce them. To run Windows 7, PCs need at least a 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB available disk space and DirectX 9 graphics.”

The CFO for Windows additionally claimed that Windows 8 is fine with touch displays, conventional mouse and keyboard setups, and the internet browsing will be powered by the next generation Internet Explorer.
