An External HDD 2x Faster Than USB 3.0: Sony HD-PG5
Sony has recently introduced its first external hard drive, dubbed the HD-PG5. The external hard drive looks a lot sleeker than most and carries its trademark logo on its nice clean, piano black surface.
The drive works like a USB-storage device, and offers users a great way to back up all their personal data, especially amidst all the recent cyber attacks that have been going on lately.
But what’s neat about this is that users can record HD video directly from their Sony Bravia TV onto the drive itself.
The drive can also be used to transfer files directly from a Sony Handycam video camera without using a PC, or play videos and photos through a PS3 console.
As you can see, this is no ordinary external hard drive, and serves many uses, especially for Sony fans. Speaking of storage space, the PG5 comes equipped with 500GB of storage on a 2.5″ form-factor, and allows users to connect via USB 2.0 and USB 3.0.
With the Data Transfer Accelerator software, you can expect to get double the data transfer speeds of ordinary USB 3.0- making this a very useful external HDD to carry.
The new drives will ship to the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and hopefully the United States (fingers crossed) by the middle of the month.
