Sony Corp. Decides To Make Batteries For Electric Vehicles!
Making batteries for Electric Vehicles is under solemn consideration by Sony Corp. The Electric Vehicles are gaining fame as the days roll on and there in no doubt it will be a gigantic manufacturing process in the future.
Sony certainly does not want to be left behind. Maybe it’s too early for Sony to join the E-Vs run but rather going for batteries of the E-Vs. The demand for lithium-ion batteries is increasing drastically with every passing day.
At a new factory for building battery devices in Motomiya, Fukushima Prefecture, Sony’s Senior Vice President Shigeki Ishizuka told reporters that “We will consider building factories, including one overseas, if demand becomes full blown,”
Shigeki Ishizuka further said that we will also consider making batteries for gasoline-electric automobiles and plug-in hybrids. Sony is at present mounting a lithium-ion battery with a protracted life that is defiant to deterioration even if re-energized frequently.
It will probably have a quick charging time as well. Details on the new batteries are limited though, at the moment. Sony has already started offering its batteries to key local electric car makers.
It good to know that such a major Japanese electronics firm make is in the run and will certainly boost flourishing of the EV market.
