BlackBerry Handsets Revealed, Right After Co. Downsizing

RIM is currently losing both in sales of its handsets and its success of its new operating system. Recently, RIM fired 2000 employees in an attempt to save the company.

But just a day after firing 2000 employees, RIM gave a statement about its two upcoming BlackBerry handsets on Twitter and Facebook which will most likely feature BlackBerry OS 7. RIM is yet to confirm these handsets but thanks to leaks, we are able to give you a quick overview of the new handsets. The first one in this line is Monza/Touch/Volt 9860 featuring a touchscreen.

Monza features a 1.2GHz processor(single core), 768 MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. Its dimesnsions are 120 x 62 x 11.5mm. Specs don’t look very promising nevertheless, something is better than nothing.

Next on the line is BlackBerry Torch 2. It aslo features a 1.2 Ghz processor(single core), 768 Mb RAM and touchscreen. Rumors suggest a little improvement in touchscreen senstivity. It features the same 5 Mp camera as Blackberry Torch except for enhancing the video capture quality. The camera luckily, will now be capable of recording 720p HD videos.

Both the handsets are expected to see a release in mid-august. Both of these handsets are nothing, compared to better hardware such as the iPhone 5 and HTC Evo 3D but we can hope that they will save RIM from sinking, especially when the BlackBerry Playbook had also been a total failure regarding sales…See the video to get a sneak peak at the BlackBerry Torch 2.
