Samsung Stays Competitive W/ 7″ Super AMOLED Screen
Samsung is taking their work very seriously, and will roll out an improved resolution on their current 7″ AMOLED display. In order to stay competitive with new electronics models, that seem to be rolling out on a weekly basis, it seems like we are entering a pixel war.
Just a few weeks ago, we talked about the possible iPad HD, and greater resolutions all around the table from brand-name electronics manufacturers. News of this new AMOLED shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
Either way, the prototype currently rocks a WSVGA resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, relying on Super AMOLED Plus technology.
The previous resolution was a mere 1024 x 600 pixels. We are not yet sure whether Samsung will only up the resolution its 7″ screens, or if it has plans for its larger 10″ screens, but we will keep you posted.
In any case, I have a feeling people will start caring less about processing speeds and RAM specs, and focus more in resolution. Of course, with a sharp resolution, these new devices will need to be powered by a powerful graphics processor in order to stream smooth, high quality video.
Will AMD and Nvidia be able to keep up?
