Android Ice Cream Sandwich Will Require TI Processor?
The new Nexus Prime phone is touted to not only run on the new Android Ice Cream Sandwich, but will also be fueled by a Texas Instruments OMAP 4 processor. Whether this will be the new standard for Ice Cream Sandwich remains a mystery, but it leaves some people guessing.
Another possibility, is that we are overanalyzing Google’s ties with Texas Instruments, and that an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor will suit it fine. If Ice Cream is to Gingerbread what Gingerbread is to Froyo, there won’t really be a need for a killer processor.
Of course, I won’t pretend I know a whole lot about Ice Cream Sandwich or what it will require to power it. I have to say, as an Android fanatic, I am quite excited about the next version of Android.
Heck, I am even excited about the Gingerbread upgrade that my G2 will be getting in the coming weeks, you can guess what it would be like to later hack my phone with an Ice Cream Sandwich ROM.
