HTC Has Just Acquired Dashwire For ‘Cloud Safety’

Taiwanese manufacturer HTC has just purchased Dashwire, a Seattle-based company. If you haven’t heard of Dashwire before, they are famous for creating a platform that allows users to back up their important data on their phones to a cloud-based system.

Dashwire is going to become a subsidiary of HTC and the company popular for their smartphones, plans on integrating Dashwire’s technology into its own HTCSense.com cloud services.

World’s Smallest Battery

Research at Rice University has proved that the work done by Lithium-Ion batteries can also be done with very tiny batteries, which Rice University just produced.

The researchers have packed the energy produced by an entire Lithium-Ion battery into a small nanowire. This battery is 6 times thinner than a bacterium, 100 times thinner than a human hair and 60,000 times smaller than a AAA batttery.

Vonage Launching iPhone App “Time To Call”

Vonage has just announced to launch a new calling application known as Time To Call which will compete Skype and other rivals.

Time to Call is an iPhone Application which allows users to call any number in around 100 countries for the duration of 15 minutes, just for a dollar or two. While for other 90 countries, under 10 dollars are charged for 15 minutes.

The money for every call is deducted from a user’s iTunes account as an in-app purchase.

Nintendo Offers 20 Free Games With New 3DS Purchase

It was just last week when Nintendo revealed a price cut for its 3DS portable gaming device. Many believed that the price cut was due to poor sales since the 3DS received many complaints, ranging from eye strain, headaches, and other things like the LCD screen getting scratched against the cover.

Anyways, I guess the company didn’t think that the massive price cut would be enough, so now they’re giving you 20 free games along with your purchase.

Is Sony Playstation 3D Monitor Landing In December?

All of you PS3 fans out there! There’s another attraction coming for you this December. At E3 2011, Sony, along with announcing PlayStation Vita, also announced a 3D LED display for PlayStation 3.

However, Sony didn’t announce the release date of this new monitor for PS3. The LED monitor is quite impressive, featuring a 24″ 3D display and will support 1080p resolution. It means that players will be able to enjoy their games in true HD. Also, the monitor will deliver 3D video.

Samsung Acquires MRAM Startup, Grandis

MRAM is one of those rarer computer memory types that is expected to one day, replace FLASH memory, and Samsung is one step closer to becoming a pioneer in MRAM technology. Why? The company has just acquired Grandis, an MRAM startup.

Grandis was founded in Milpitas, California and has raised $15 million in venture capital since its birth in 2002. If you haven’t heard about MRAM yet, it stands for Magnetic Random Access Memory and has been claimed by a number of individuals to be an excellent alternative to fast and nonvolatile memory (doesn’t lose data when you cut the cord).

A No-Contract Dream For $200: Nokia 500

It looks like we may have an introductory touch screen smartphone before the famous Sea Ray debuts. The Nokia N500, a Symbian Anna powered phone, runs on a 1GHz processor (single-core), and while that may not seem like much, Symbian has been known to not use too many computing resources.

The device itself rocks a 3.2″ capacitive touchscreen with a modest 640 x 360 pixel resolution and a 5MP rear-facing camera to snap photos on the go.

The fact is insane but true, Apple today has more money than the American government. 15 years back, Apple was on edge of default but the tables have turned over and today the American government is.

Let’s see if the American government can pull-through as ‘quickly’ as Apple did, pray hard folks! According to the stats after Apple’s third quarter report, the company has $75.876 billion in its reservoirs while the U.S government has a total of $73.768 billion for running its entire operating balance. Incredible!

Rumor: PlayStation Vita Will Be Arriving On October 28

The release date of Sony’s PlayStation Vita has been leaked by a Blockbuster flyer and according to the claims; the Vita (both 3G and non-3G version) will be ready for release on October 28.

The Japanese tech giant, Sony already has stated that they will release the PlayStation Vita this year. However, the unanswered questions were: where and when? Although the Vita is highly expected to be first launched in Japan (since Japan is the hardware manufacturer’s country of origin), the Vita’s birth may have another twist of fate.

Apple Breaks Ties With Foxconn For iPad 3

Did you know that your favorite iPhone and iPad devices were all manufactured in China? For those of you who knew it, they won’t be produced any more in China. Foxconn was the company responsible for producing the majority of the i-devices. But it looks like Foxconn is out of play now.

Reports suggest that Apple has cancelled the iPad 3 manufacturing contract with Foxconn and is most probably opting for a Taiwanese company, Pegatron. Recently, Pegatron stated that they had received a contract for manufacturing 15 million iPhone units.
