eBay Gets Aggressive With Social Strategy

Looks like eBay is head to toes in their new e-commerce project, X.Commerce. That’s why eBay has now procured the two leading platforms in the e-commerce industry, Magento and GSI Commerce.

Paypal which is now a subsidiary of eBay, earlier this year merged their programming interface and developers with that of eBay for a joint venture, X.Commerce. X Commerce is a cloud based toolkit that allows businesses to innovate the e-commerce industry.

Drift HD Extreme 1080P Camcorder

Some might think that video camcorders are now obsolete, however, this conception is not entirely true. Although smartphones with amazing built-in cameras and all-in-one digital cameras have largely replaced bulky camcorders, they are not yet extinct.

For instance, Drift has recently announced their new classy sports camcorder, the Drift HD. The name suggests that the Drift HD is aimed at a fan base that has a great interest in sports. This amazing camcorder can be mounted on your helmet or even a bike handle to record your favorite moments.

Olympus E-PL3 Coming This September

With Sony having released its entry level DSLRs: the alpha-nex 3D ad alpha-nex 5D, Electronics rival Olympus has also planned to release a camera having features both of a compact camera and a DSLR. Therefore, Olympus announced its interchangeable lens camera, the Olympus E-PL3 in June. But no information was provided regarding the price and release date of the unit.

Now, Olympus has at least announced the month of its arrival in the US which is September 2011. The camera will feature a 12.3 megapixel sensor with an interchangeable lens capability, a Live MOS sensor, TruePic VI image processors and an ISO ceiling of 12,800.

Dropbox Moving To A Bigger Office

Dropbox is an application which allows users to share and sync files, data, videos and lots of stuff with other dropbox users sing your computer, phones and other devices. The company is growing very fast and now they are about to hire hundreds of people.

Dropbox company had decided to move their current office which is only 11,000 sq. ft. to a new office situated in San Francisco Market Street across the town to 185 Berry Street in China Basin which is around 85,000 sq. ft.. This is just down the street from AT&T park. The movement is planned next year.

LulzSec And Anonymous Nominated For Pwnie Awards 2011

Finally, the time has come to reward the infamous hacking organizations. Will it be LulzSec or Anonymous? Both the groups have been nominated for Pwnie Awards 2011. Thus far, they are going nose to nose in the category for the most destructive, extensively publicized or entertaining hack of the year. The fifth Pwnies award ceremony will be taking place next week- it is just like the Oscars for the cyber community.

In the world of hacking, ‘pwn’ stands for control, as in controlling another person’s computer or an entire server. Pwnies is pronounced just like ponies, which is exactly the reason why the winners get a gold-painted Little Pony statue.

Galaxy S2 Gets A QWERTY Keyboard

The Samsung Galaxy S2, powered by Android, is already making news in Asia and Europe as the best Android Smartphone yet. However, US users have yet to experience the epic of this handset. This cool smartphone is expected to arrive in the US in late July or August as the news suggests.

Also, different carriers will have this smartphone released under different names. The Sprint variant will be called the Samsung Within, on AT&T the Attain, and on Verizon, the Function. Looks like AT&T’s version is making a huge change in the handset’s design which is simply cool. Yes, it’s true. AT&T will be releasing the Attain with a QWERTY keyboard.

AMD’s Next-Gen Fused Corona Desktop

AND is building it’s new technology of Corona Desktops by fusing the processor silicon with the Northbridge. The Corona will use Komodo CPUs.

AND is introducing a new CPU architecture known as Piledriver, which is the successor to the Bulldorzer. It is also known as the Second Generation of Bulldozer. The Komodo CPUs to be used in Corona will be using FM2 infrastructure and have up to 10 Piledriver CPU cores, AMD Turbo Core 3.0 and DDR3 memory.

Canon’s X Mark I Mouse

Looks like the imaging giant Canon has now jumped into the PC industry. After all, the PC industry is a rich platform to invest in. That is why Canon has recently released a mouse for desktops and notebooks. It’s a three-in-one device, featuring a calculator, a complete numeric pad and a laser pointing mouse.

Wait a second, before you might think that this mouse is going to be a brick’s size, think again. It is actually a pretty cool device and its size is almost the same as an average desktop mouse. Moreover it’s compatible with both Windows and Mac. The mouse features a 1200 dpi laser for cursor control, a 10 digit display and 23 buttons including a backspace key as well.
