Hulu has recently dropped a few clues to consumers that it is considering an ad-free version of its video streaming service. The company is specifically looking for a more expensive tier without dealing with the ads from either the free version, nor the $8 mobile plan.

The OS war between different mobile operating system vendors is not new. Apple, Google, Microsoft, Nokia, RIM are some of the major contenders.

However, a study that was conducted recently states that Google dominates this pool of contenders with its Android OS. A research firm named Canalys recently carried out this survey which indicated that almost half of the world’s smartphones run Android while there is a major gap between iOS and Android. About 48 percent of the OS market belongs to Android while mere 19 percent is owned by iOS.

Spectrum sharing helps maintain the wireless network and keep it in a good state by shifting the excess users to the shared spectrum. Couple this with the fact that the US government is quite eager to provide 4G facilities near border areas, and you’ve got yourself a partnership with neighboring countries.

To achieve this goal, The Federal Communications Commission made a deal with Mexico and Canada for sharing certain wireless band spectrums. The FCC has not disclosed many details regarding the deal. However, the deal with the Canadian industry involves the sharing of commercial spectrum in 700 megahertz and 800 MHz bands.

When will Sony choose to draw the line between smartphone and tablet? Well, I can’t answer that one just yet, but I can tell you that Sony Ericsson is planning a massive 4.7″ 3D smartphone device.

The gadget will be glasses-free and will have a super sharp resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. To put that number in perspective, that’s like transferring a standard resolution from a 13″ laptop screen onto a 4.7″ screen, offering extremely sharp images.

For those of you who are related to IT in one way or another, ‘Botnet’ shouldn’t be a new term. However, for those who are unaware, a botnet is a system of computers which are compromised by malware and each individual computer is called a Bot.

A botnet is a very complex method of hacking which may be used to steal your private information without you even knowing it. Researchers from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology in New Delhi, India have designed Stegobot, a new type of Botnet system which pulls out secret information via social networks by attaching to user profiles.
