Google Analytics Gets Official Mobile App

Google just announce the launch of Google Analytics App for Android phones!

With the Google Analytics App, you can access the same accounts and profiles you see when you open Analytics from a desktop browser, but the reports that are optimized for your phone.

Google will be providing access on an incremental basis to Google Analytics users who sign up to participate in the beta test, with general availability coming later this summer.

Google Will Merge Hangouts, Talk & Messenger

Google has been working on unifying various real-time messaging applications across all devices, and the result are likely to be a unified messenger that allows anyone to do one-on-one chats as well as group video Hangouts.

According to Google Product Manager Nikhyl Singhal, Google has “done an incredibly poor job servicing our users here.” Singhal said that Google doesn’t have anything to announce, but that the company is definitely working on unifying all messaging experiences in the near future.

Ford Adds to Its Portfolio – Auto Parking and Auto Driving

Ford has unveiled its latest addition to its active park assist (APA) package — perpendicular park assist. The technology complements the existing parallel park assist, which is currently available on most models. The system will back your car into perpendicular parking lot spots, allowing for perfect parking all the time.

Ford is also looking to tackle is traffic jams. Ford group vice president Raj Nair, comments, “As an engineer we’re always looking for a smarter way, a better way.”

Their plan is to combat congestion and frustration, by introducing Traffic Jam Assist, a technology which can optionally take over driving when the user is in stop and go traffic. The technology is similar to a low-speed cruise control, but adds automated braking and lane-keeping to the mix. Drivers can override the system at any time to change lanes.

Apple Releases New Podcast App

Apple has released a brand new Podcasts app, which is available for free. The app is designed both for the iPad and iPhone and requires iOS 5.1 or later. Get the app at the Apple AppStore.

Facebook Now Allows You To Edit Comments

Surely there have been times you written a comment in Facebook, responding to an update, only to find that you have a typo or simply didn’t write what you wanted. Before, all you could do was delete that comment or, if you saw an error quickly, you could edit it within a few seconds after you wrote that post.

Facebook has rolled out a new update that allows users to actually edit a comment long after it has been posted. Facebook’s support page has the simple details on how to edit a comment you’ve already posted. This new feature should be available to all Facebook users in the next few days. With the new update, users will be able to edit their comments at any time, even with comments that you have previously written on other user’s status updates.

New Prepaid Mobile Broadband Service From Walmart

Walmart and TruConnect launched a prepaid mobile broadband service that lets you pay for the amount of data you use, rather than monthly. Essentially, you don’t have to pay $40 every month regardless if you used all your data. You just pay for the data you used. The service is called Internet To Go, and it uses Sprint’s 3G wireless network. Its a smart option if you only use your device to check email and do sporadic connections.

Lantronix xPrintServer – Printing From Your iOS Devices

Lantronix recently released a new version of its xPrintServer which turns any printer into a wireless printer for your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. The company released its first xPrintServer late last year, allowing you to turn any network-connected printer into an iOS printer by simply plugging an Ethernet cable into the little box. Now the company added the xPrintServer Home Edition to its lineup, adding a USB port for the types of printers you’re more like to find at home.

Songza A Simpler Way To Stream Your Music

Songza is based on the simple principle that even using Pandora requires too much thought. Songza creates ready-made playlists for certain times of day or activities, such as for on Monday morning or romancing on Friday night.

“The idea here is that we can get you to awesome music without you having to think,” said Elias Roman, 28, Songza’s chief executive.

Twitter Gets Hacked By UGNazi

It looks like it is that time of the year again for hackers to cause their online mayhem. The latest instant comes from a group called UGNazi, responsible for former hacks towards government websites.

The attack occurred on 6/21/2012 and was a DoS or “Denial of Service” attack which shut down Twitter by flooding it with requests. While this likely disrupted the 14% of the country who regularly sends out tweets, the attack was brief.

Facebook’s Unique Visitors Fall in May

Facebook’s U.S. user numbers fell in May from April and March, according to data compiled by research firm comScore, in the latest sign that the No.1 social network’s growth may be leveling off.

Last month, Facebook attracted 158.01 million unique visitors in the United States, slipping from 158.69 million in April and 158.93 million in March, comScore said.
