Heavy Tablet Production Begins For Fall Season

This Fall, you can expect to see some heavy tablet production from all the major brand names. When you combine the high demand of both tablet PCs and iPads for this summer, you can only expect the demand to skyrocket during the Fall season, as kids go back to school and people begin to do some early Christmas shopping.

Sources state that around 15 million tablets are expected to ship by the end of summer, with an expected 21 million to ship later this year during the Fall season.

Acer Integrates Social Media Button On New Laptops

Electronics manufacturer, Acer, has announced today that their new laptops will have one-touch keys that will give consumers a one-touch access to Facebook, Youtube, and Twitter. I don’t think it’s too hard to type the social media URL of your choice into a browser, but I think it’s more of an escape from boredom.

Have you ever been on your computer and were completely clueless of where to go next? Well, with a push of a button, you can be transported into any one of these entertainment hubs and happily waste a few more hours of your life while your homework stays piled on that corner of your desk.

The UI and various visual interfaces have been made smoother and faster, with the new interface promises to be easier to see, understand, and use. There will be support for wider range of USB devices.

Acer Working On Slideout Android Tablet, Yay!

I am a huge fan of tablets, and am also a huge fan of the Android operating system, so when I hear that there is a new Android tablet, I go a little crazy. According to Digitimes, Acer is working on a slideout Android tablet. No clue on whether the QWERTY keyboard will be similar to a laptop keyboard or not, but I am really hoping it will have laptop-style keys.

Aside from having a 10″ screen, we are told that it will be fueled by an ARM processor and will be manufactured by Compal Electronics. Although we are unsure of the exact storage, I would guess that the base model will come with 16GB of storage and start around $450.

Acer Orders 80,000 AMD Z Processors For New Tablet?

It looks like Acer has just placed a big order for AMD Z series APUs for a possible new tablet lineup. The company placed an order for 80,000 of the AMD processors, and the new tablets are likely going to dive into the enterprise market.

No clue on whether or not the new tablets will feature Android’s new Ice Cream Sandwich or Windows 7 but I would vote for the less expensive operating system. Although, Windows may just be the victor, since I can’t imagine businesses adopting the Android platform, unless maybe they’re a startup.

Acer Updates It’s Awesome TimelineX Notebooks

Acer has just brought us a new concept of a timeline, that is, an updated series of the TimelineX range of notebooks. The TimelineX notebooks come in three sizes; the 13.3″ 3830T, 14″ 4830T, and the 15.6″ 5830T, which size you should get all depends on your laptop preferences.

Each notebook offers consumers a choice of choosing between Intel’s Sandy Bridge Core i3 and i5 processors. Users also have the option of choosing integrated Intel HD graphics or Nvidia GeForce GT 520M/540M graphics with Optimus switching. The battery life will last up to eight hours on a full charge.

Acer’s First Mango Phone: W4

Acer has just revealed its first Windows Phone Mango at Computex 2011. The smartphone is expected to hit consumers later this year and will be dubbed the Acer W4 (nice and simple, isn’t it?) The windows phone will feature a 3.6″ WVGA screen and offer a viewing resolution of 480 by 800 pixels. The device comes with a 5MP rear camera with auto-focus, allowing you to take the clearest of snapshots while staying within budget.

The Mango phone will offer HSPA (850/1900) or (900/2100) AND GSM quad band (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) Support. What powers the device, you ask?

Acer Updates Liquidmini With Gingerbread

Acer has just announced its updated line of liquidmini smartphones, now, with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. While the original colors included silver, blue, black, green, and pink, the new liquidmini phones come in cherry, lagoon, pearl, and steel. All phones feature a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen display, rocking a 320 x 480 pixel resolution.

One of the camera’s core features is its 5 megapixel camera, a camera good enough to snap your favorite memories while you’re on vacation.

Acer Coming Out W/ 10″ Oak Trail Tablet

Acer is expected to launch a 10-inch Android Honeycomb tablet with the new Intel Oak Trail processor, scheduled for July. Acer has been known to be a company of many ‘firsts’, launching one of the first Android-based netbooks back in 2009, it was of no surprise to see the company adopt the Chrome operating system for its notebooks.

After hearing earlier about the Windows 8 scheduled release next year, we wonder what Acer might have in store (pun intended) for us then.
