A No-Contract Dream For $200: Nokia 500

It looks like we may have an introductory touch screen smartphone before the famous Sea Ray debuts. The Nokia N500, a Symbian Anna powered phone, runs on a 1GHz processor (single-core), and while that may not seem like much, Symbian has been known to not use too many computing resources.

The device itself rocks a 3.2″ capacitive touchscreen with a modest 640 x 360 pixel resolution and a 5MP rear-facing camera to snap photos on the go.

Nokia’s First Windows 7 Phones Due Later This Year

The Finnish cellphone maker, Nokia will introduce its first smartphones with Microsoft Windows Phone 7 operating system later this year. Nokia has been around for quite some time in the mobile world and have a long reputation of attaching itself to the Symbian operating system.

Although Symbian was a solid mobile operating system ten years ago, it fails to meet the intuitive feel of both iOS, Windows Phone 7, and Android. Thus, the announcement of integrating Windows Phone 7 in the new Nokia smartphones are sure to make a number of people smile.

Leaked Photos: Nokia N9- Coming Soon!

Nokia is jet set to launch the 11th Nokia Connection event in Singapore tomorrow. The company is expected to reveal the highly anticipated Nokia N9 at the conference. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Finnish phone manufacturers lineup, the N9 is the successor of the well known Nokia N900 smartphone.

The handset will run the MeeGo operating system (phew), leaving those dreading Symbian, jumping for joy. Thanks to Pocketnow, we have a few leaked photos, and this phone is looking thinner than you’d ever expect!

A Second Look At The Fujitsu Loox F-07C

Fujitsu recently showed us a very cool smartphone called the Loox F-07C. While this isn’t your typical smartphone name (e.g. desire, merge, sensation, thrill), I have to give Fujitsu props for coming up with its own style. The Loox F-07C is a dual-mode phone that features an Intel Atom processor allowing users to have the processing power needed in a Windows 7 tablet in the bite-sized form factor of a smartphone.

The F-07C can be booted as a tablet running Windows 7 or as a smartphone running the, ugh, Symbian operating system. Sorry, not a huge fan of Symbian, but the dual-mode feature is super cool and not something you ordinarily see on today’s smartphones.
