11 New AMD-Powered Notebooks, From HP

If you’re on the market looking for a new PC, your job just got a lot harder. Computer maker, Hewlett-Packard has just announced a crazed wave of new notebooks that will get you excited for this summer. Each of the new notebooks will feature AMD’s Vision technology, a step up above of the previous Fusion Accelerated Processing Units (APU). The result? Smaller and more light weight full-sized notebooks.

The HP DV series, which has been around for a while, are all getting CoolSense, True Vision HD webcam, and HP’s Beats Audio (on the DV6 and DV7 only). The DV series (DV4, DV6, and DV7) will also be enjoying 2x the graphics power compared to previous generations allowing a new gaming standard, even for those who opt out for a discrete graphics card.

AMD 9-Series Motherboard Goes Live

AMD is set to launch its 9-series chipset this week, in efforts to bring next-gen technology to computer enthusiasts around the world. The new chipset was designed to complement AMD’s Scorpius desktop platform, a platform that will feature the 8-core “Zambezi” processor and support AMD Radeon HD6000 series graphics cards.

The 9-series chipset will be the first to support AMD’s AM3+ socket processors, as well as offer backwards compatibility with earlier generations.

New AMD 32nm Llano APU

AMD has announched its new 32nm Llano platform version of its Fusion Accelerated Processing unit (APU). Although the chips have started shipping, consumers are warned not to expect it in their new laptops and PCs at this time. AMD has finally shed their 40 nanometer chip size and thanks to the company’s chip manufacturer, GlobalFoundries, they have been able to get high quality 32nm chip yields. Geek.com notes that…
