Best Buy Furious At Newegg’s Marketing

Best Buy recently sent online electronics manufacturer, Newegg, a cease and desist letter, citing that Newegg stole Best Buy’s Geek Squad logo and made of Best Buy in a commercial (shown top). If you ask me, a power button symbol as an O isn’t clever enough to be trademarked by anyone.

Not to mention that Best Buy’s logo has a tie on its power button and Newegg doesn’t. As for the commercial, I agree that Newegg was probably making fun of Best Buy employees in a generic sort of way, but this kind of stuff happens ALL the time with competitors. Hello? Ever heard of the “Mac vs. PC” campaign Apple spun way back when? Did Microsoft cry about it? No. They countered the ads showing a racially and socioeconomically diverse group, all claiming that they were a PC.

Full Scoop On Acer + Samsung Chrome Notebooks

Google and Acer have come forth with full specs, pricing, and a release date for the two popular Chrome notebooks. We covered the story just last week when we heard news about the leak and are happy to finally offer you real photos this time. Both models will go on sale on June 15th through Amazon and Best Buy. Best Buy Will Begin To Sell Electric Cars

Best Buy is considering to offer electric vehicles in the future for customers. The popular electronics store has already started talks with smaller automakers about the idea, mainly startups. Best Buy has claimed that the “conversations are going well” and that they are excited about several partnerships, although they are unable to disclose specifics at this point in time.

Best Buy notes that it is a reasonable progression for the company since they started selling charging stations for electric cars as well as electric motorcycles of the past few years. Not only does it seem logical from this point of view, but given the fact that Best Buy receives so much traffic on a weekly basis…

LG Announces Company’s Strong Quarter

LG has recently come forth to say that it has turned a new corner with the sales of flat panels and operating profits up. The company believes that an aggressive product line-up in televisions will continue to fuel profits. The company saw its first operating profit in early of 2010. LG feels confident that the Cinema 3D TV range and its Smart TVs will be the driving force of product sales.

The company has seen success, largely due to its cost-cutting efforts and are currently in a 73.1 million USD profit in the first quarter.

Technology Related Commercials of SuperBowl XLV

The Green Bay Packers will go down in history as winning Super Bowl XLV (45) in Arlington, Texas tonight. It is a night they will never forget as they took on the Pittsburgh Steelers and won in front of a huge crowd. The game was held in the new Cowboys Stadium and the Packers defeated the Steelers with a score of 31 to 25 on February 6, 2011.

While many truly enjoy the game of football and the comradery the event brings, some just watch for the commercials as advertisers battle it out to see who gets the most eyes. The commercials run during the breaks and are considered part of the tradition of the game.
