Is HTC Really Going Down?

It seems like confronting Apple legally wasn’t such a good idea, HTC ended up losing the fight and hurting its sales. Normally nothing big is expected from patent lawsuits but that not always is the case. HTC is living examples. Due to the poor economic situation in Europe and the requirement for customs inspections after it lost a patent dispute with Apple, its profit fell down substantially by 57 percent!

Android Dominates Mobile OS Market

The OS war between different mobile operating system vendors is not new. Apple, Google, Microsoft, Nokia, RIM are some of the major contenders.

However, a study that was conducted recently states that Google dominates this pool of contenders with its Android OS. A research firm named Canalys recently carried out this survey which indicated that almost half of the world’s smartphones run Android while there is a major gap between iOS and Android. About 48 percent of the OS market belongs to Android while mere 19 percent is owned by iOS.

Blackberry Messenger 6 (BBM6) Launched By RIM

Blackberry has always been an attraction for the crowd. People intend to purchase Blackberry phones because of the brand name, reputation and the numerous services that it provides to it’s customers.

The BlackBerry maker, RIM is expected to roll out a collection of new BlackBerry smartphones today. That is great news for BlackBerry fans. One of the new phones is the BlackBerry Bold 9930, which has come into view at VerizonWireless.com.

A video of the BlackBerry Bold 9300 has been posted on the site for a brief walkthrough of the smartphone. The phone features a thinner design, along with a QWERTY keyboard and a 2.8 inch capacitive touchscreen display.

Blackberry has just released the BlackBerry Theme Studio 6. The new features are amazing! The new theme supports the latest blackberry phones; BlackBerry Torch 9800 and BlackBerry Style 9670 handsets, and BlackBerry 6. The theme has graphic pop-up menus. Also, it has BlackBerry Messenger (BBM), Facebook, and Twitter that feeds to your screen. The theme allows you to update all the graphics in the theme automatically.

Introducing The Motorola XPRT

Sprint has announced today that it will be adding a new Motorola Android phone designed for business professionals. The Motorola XPRT (pictured left) will be Sprint’s first Android world phone (yay) designed for working professionals. The phone’s display is a 3.1-inch HVGA display. The device has a 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, a full QWERTY keyboard (BlackBerry/Droid Pro-Style) and has enterprise-class security and data encryption.

RIM (Research In Motion) has announced today, a product that is meant to create a wall between personal lives and work lives. The service is called BlackBerry Balance. With BlackBerry Balance, users will be given a unified view of the applications and data on their smartphones. This will allow users to separate business information meant to stay within the company and personal stuff that has nothing to do with your work.

Amazon Introduces Library Lending, For ALL Platforms

KLL is a new feature that will launch later this year, letting Kindle customers borrow books from over 11,000 libraries in the United States, digitally.
